When installing in a 5" or 6"recessed can, the light must be ordered as a 10watt light (480 lumens) and for a 4" recessed can ordered as an 8watt light (400 lumens) to ensure there is no overheating of the light inside the recessed can. Over heating may cause the light to fail early as LEDs are sensitive to heat.
